ActiveLink Directory

The Setup program will guide you through the installation steps. You may accept or modify the ActiveLink system folder location.

If installing to an existing ActiveLink folder, then modified directories will be preserved, but a backup of the data and database folders is always recommended.

 

System Folders

The following folders are part of a standard ActiveLink installation and are the same structure on Unix, iSeries and Windows configurations.

System programs and Studio log files.

cachedir Java Packages.
  • Used internally for optimization.
  • Do not modify.
data User-defined solution folders.
  • Contains solutions folders.
  • Sub-folders may be added.
  • Do not remove, but add freely.
data/solutions Default folder for solutions
  • Studio saves to here by default
  • Solutions Server loads solutions from here by default
  • Sub-Folders may be added
database History Log, Input Queue Database
help Help Documents
  • Defaults to current installed version
  • Newer Help documents may be updated
  • Offline version of ActiveLink Help
jre Java Run-time Environment.
  • Used by everything
  • Included with Setup
  • Do not modify
lib Java libraries.
  • ActiveLink Java Libraries
  • Custom Java JAR files will get added to class path after Server restart
